Whilst enjoying a relaxing break at Saltwater, guests are usually keen to sample the culinary delights of local restaurants which offer high quality produce and both creative and home-style cooking.  Listed below are some of the many restaurants/cafes/delis within about a half-hour drive or less, from Saltwater.

White Sands Estate:   Five minutes south of Saltwater.  Be among the first to sample boutique beers from Tasmania's newest brewery, Iron House Brewery. Bistro and fine-dining restaurant [Blanc] and function centre open early 2011. Top two photos.

Wise & Tilly, Scamander.  The energetic young crew from the hugely successful Angasi at Binalong Bay, have relocated.  Lunch and dinner plus take aways daily.  Now only 10 minutes from Saltwater.

Bicheno - Sip:  Fans of former Left Bank, Swansea, will be delighted to welcome Helen and Subi to the area along with their creative menu at Sip.  Why not stop off for breakfast on the way to the walking tracks of Freycinet or perhaps enjoy a long and leisurely lunch sharing the Sip and Dream platter on the deck which provides views over the treetops to the bay and Diamond Island.  Open 7 days, 8 - 4.  Follow the signs from the highway as you enter town.

StHelens:  The Village Store and More.  Whilst the décor may be shabby chic in keeping with its heritage values, the menu reflects the energy of its young owners.  A well-stocked deli offers plenty of home-cooked goodies for picnic lunches.  Enjoy a hearty breakfast or great for coffee at any time.  Open 7 days.  Photo opposite.
