Whilst enjoying a relaxing break at Saltwater, guests are usually keen to sample the culinary delights of local restaurants which offer high quality produce and both creative and home-style cooking.  Listed below are some of the many restaurants/cafes/delis within about a half-hour drive or less, from Saltwater.

White Sands Resort Restaurant:   Five minutes south of Saltwater, this  modern restaurant has already received awards for its creative menu, particularly seafood. St Helens:  The Village Store and More.  Whilst the décor may be shabby chic in keeping with its heritage values, the menu reflects the energy of its young owners.  A well-stocked deli offers plenty of home-cooked goodies for picnic lunches.  Enjoy a hearty breakfast or great for coffee at any time.  Open 7 days.  See photo at right.

Binalong Bay:  Angasi -  10 mins east of St Helens overlooking the white sands and turquoise waters of the Bay of Fires, this restaurant is well worth the journey.  Enjoy a coffee on the deck [photo below right] or partake of the highly rated a la carte seafood menu. Bicheno - Sip:  Fans of former Left Bank, Swansea, will be delighted to welcome Helen and Subi to the area along with their creative menu at Sip.  Why not stop off for breakfast on the way to the walking tracks of Freycinet or perhaps enjoy a long and leisurely lunch sharing the Sip and Dream platter on the deck which provides views over the treetops to the bay and Diamond Island.  Open 7 days, 8 - 4.  Follow the signs from the highway as you enter town.

St Mary's - Happy Belly Deli:  Relax and enjoy good coffee while your hamper of deli supplies is being prepared..

St Mary’s:  Purple Possum -  Newly expanded to offer coffee and home-baked cake as well as all that’s healthy including light vegetarian meals and supplies of bulk nuts etc , preserved and locally grown fresh fruit. See photo below left.
